Guy Ritchie I am not

I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to stick with dick and fart jokes for now. It’s what I know best. So I’m shelving The Double Cross until I get more experienced at writing. I’ve rewritten the major plot thread four different times and it’s just not working for me. It keeps turning into something like the Getaway or Payback and I kind of want something a little more original. I’m not really a script writer, I just play one on TV. Reaching back into the archives, I’ve decided that I’m going to overhaul my first script The Tiki Torch of Terror. So we’ll see how it goes.

It’s official, we have a title!

After working on my feature last night I finally settled on a suitable title, “The Double Cross”. Over the course of this week, a lot of my base ideas for the story has changed. I’ve decided to make Ruth, Gabe’s ex-wife (was ex-girlfriend) a more likable and sympathetic character rather than a gold digging bitch. I also added in the antagonists Boris and Hannah, a pair of German goth hitmen. I’m also cutting out the importance of the lottery ticket. It’s still there, but Gabe is not the lucky winner. Instead he gets his money the old fashioned way, by stealing it from his scumbag of a boss. I’ve also added the uses of guns, which I was initially avoiding. Though the role they play is very minimal when it comes to Gabe. The story is still about Gabe getting the crap kicked out of him, scoring big and doing a lot of ass kicking himself. In the end Gabe will end up on top, for the most part. I want to have a rough draft compete by the end of July so I can begin figuring out how I’m going to do some fund raising. I want to raise around 10k to put into equipment and props.
