Last week I spent a lot of time working on the Crosshairs edit. Finally there is light at the end of the tunnel. Out of the stuff that we have shot there are 4 to 6 scene left that need to be edited. I still need to go back and do cleanup. I have till the 6th to get everything finalized. After that it will be time to go back and in the compositing all the muzzle flashes and blood sprays. This will be time consuming, but hopefully to much.
In other news, last Friday I continued my experiments in 3D Studio Max. A lot of what I want to learn has to do with animating 3D object rather than creating them. I’m sure I will still need to lean some of the basics. I took the planet I created and started doing some test animations. After watching some more tutorials I added a mesh of a Star Destoryer I found at Sci-Fi 3D. They have a lot of kewl shit there. Star Wars, Star Trek, Aliens, etc. Great stuff. After sinking a lot of time into playing around, I produced a very simple animation. I’m still not done. I still need change a few things with the velocity of the ships. I’m probably not going to have time until the middle of the month when I’m done with Crosshairs. I’m really looking forward to it. I want to take my film making to the next level. I have some ideas that could be put to good use for Voice in the Dark when I get to it. My skills should be a little more refined by the time I get there.
